From the wonderfully well-done website known as Mother 2 to EarthBound and Back Again (M2EB, for short), there is a litle piece on the guy in Onett who asks you the trivia question "OK, pop quiz! 'A Beatles song, XXXterday. Can you fill in the blanks?", you get a choice of "yes" or "no". Anyway, it goes on to say the question in Mother 2 was more along the lines of "OK, quiz. 'The Alp's little girl OOOdi'. What goes in the place of OOO?"
In this particular case you got a choice of "hai" (meaning "yes") or "iie" (which, I'm guessing, is roughly "no"). This question refers to the main character of "Heidi", a book published in about 1880 and written by Johanna Spyri. The story is about an orphaned girl named Heidi, who is sent to live with her grumpy grampa in the Alps.
