Giygas Vs.....
This is an article about Giygas's comparison to other RPG villains(SNES only, mind you). I could talk about something else, but I'd like to talk about this....
[Giygas vs. Kefka(FF3):]
Kefka: Ah, Kefka, one of the only RPG villains a RPG lover can really love. He wants to destroy the world, although his reason is different from most others. He doesn't want to "take over the world", but rather, destroy all life on it(besides himself), and he is plain "trigger happy", meaning he has no TRUE feelings towards anyone, like the shooters in the Littleton incident. Yet, Kefka is still pretty much your normal human psycho, but he commands a vast amount of magic, and even a very small amount of mind control.
Giygas: Giygas's reasons for taking over the world are indeed a mystery, like someone else mentioned comparing EB to FF7, but Giygas is a TRUE monster, and like mentioned, can only be beaten by Paula's praying, and probably the ONLY enemy that can substitute for a background. I think Giygas is also cool in how he destroys his own mind....
Giygas and Kefka: .... But despite all of this, they do have at least one thing in common(besides the fact they're evil): They both end up going off the deep end during the games they are in.
[Giygas vs. Daos(Lufia):]
Daos: I don't too much about Daos, but he is yet another who wants to "take over the world". But he has many head assistants; Gades, Amon and Erim(who ironically is also a good character at times under the identity of "Iris" or "Lufia")
Giygas: Giygas has only one head assistant, Pokey, who was also good at one point in EB(but for only a short time).
[Giygas vs. Lavos(CT)]:
Lavos: Like Giygas, he is not human by any means, but he can also give birth to "spawns" which are like Giygas's Starmen in a way. Lavos is one who's true motives are also unknown, but still involve mass destruction, just like Kefka.(if fact, those two make quite a good team). Lavos also has multiple forms as well.
Giygas: Like I said above, Giygas has his Starmen, as well as about 4 different forms, but his motives don't exactly include mass destruction(but still some destruction). Some people think that Lavos and Giygas are the same creature under different identities, but that is NOT true, otherwise they could use each others' forms, wouldn't they?
[Giygas vs. Smithy(SMRPG)]:
Smithy: His plan isn't to "take over the world" or even "destroy the world", but to create war all over Mario's world(or any other world he comes in contact with) by destroying the Star Road. He has two forms as well, as well as an assortment of attacks. He also has tons of minions, including 8 main generals(Mack, Bowyer, Yaridovich, and the Axem Rangers), as well as an impressive arsenal of airships and other vehicles in the shape of weapons(including Exor).
Giygas: If you count the sanctuary guardians being minions of Giygas, he would have one more general than Smithy, but Smithy can still be beaten by normal means, where Giygas cannot. Giygas doesn't have all the fancy vehicles and magic that Smithy has, but he can also be mistaken for a background, plus he has an attack that can kill everyone instantly.
Smithy and Giygas: But in terms of it, they are probably the closest relation(in my opinion), and would probably ally up if they knew of each other's existence.
