Make Your Own EarthBound Soundtrack!
Now you must be thinking, "my own earthbound soundtrack?, now is that possible?" Yes, that's right, you can make your own Earthbound soundtrack. Althought when i did it, it was a long and tedious process, you can do it in a couple of days (a day if you have the patience) with the debug menu found on this page. First of all, I'll list the needs.
A stereo with Auxillary (AUX) output plugs (2)
A VCR with two audio input plugs
a wire that has two male (male plugs have the pieces of metal sticking out while the female plugs have a hole in them) ends on each side so that you can plug it into the audio input and the auxillary. you should be able to get it at a radio shack for a couple of bucks.
A super nintendo
An Earthbound game pak
A couple of blank tapes
Now the first thing you should do is plug the super nintendo into the VCR like you would normally do. Then bring the stereo out to where the VCR is. take the wire that i mentioned above and plug it in to the audio input and the AUX output. Make sure that you plug them in the right way. the wire should have a left-right marking or coloring. If done right, the music should be coming out of the speakers of the stereo rather than the television. When this happens, all you have to do is pop the blank tape in and press record and pause whenever you want to start and stop the recording process.
As I said earlier, I did this the long and tedious way by going through the game. But with the debug menu, you can complete this task much easier. If you have not yet gotten this, I will tell you how.
You need a Game Genie, if you don't have one, just do it by going through the game.
TURN ON THE GAME GENIE
Enter the code provided by LrdRoKoL EE64-54A1
TURN OFF THE GAME GENIE BEFORE STARTING THE GAME
Then, either go to Scaraba, Dungeon man, or at the end when pokey appears in froooont of giygas
For scaraba, go to the sign that reads, Hassan's market($'s acceptable)
Before reading it TURN ON THE GAME GENIE
Read it
It will say a bunch of stuff but when is says NNW SMSK? it will go to the debug menu.
Before you do anything on the debug menu, TURN OFF THE GAME GENIE.
Where you want to go is SUND
Then go to BGM which will give you the background music go up to 191, 192 and above will lock game.
for dungeon man, do the same thing be read the sign that says "this is my face, feel free to talk to it -brick road", and for the end, do the same thing but turn on the game genie before you start scrolling down what pokey says.
Now you've got everything, just spend many happy hours recording until its finished. you should be able to get every bit of music in the game. once your done you can probably transfer it to CD by buurning. It worked for me and it should work for you. Enjoy!
